“Culture of Good Neighborhood: I Explore the World” Program and methodological recommendations for grades 1-2 and 3-4

The collections contain educational and model programs, as well as methodological recommendations for piloting an integrated course «Culture of Good Neighborhood: I Explore the World» in primary school, developed on the basis of approved programs a cross-cutting integrated specialty course «Culture of Good Neighborhood» (letter of the SSI ICEE of the MES of Ukraine No. 22.1/12-G-366 of 15.06.2018) and the model educational program created by the author’s team under the leadership of R. Shyian (order of the MES of Ukraine No. 1272 of 08.10.2019) in accordance with the tasks set out in the State Standard of Primary Education (2016).

The materials of the collections are intended for systematic work on the development of children’s basic competencies in lifelong learning, as well as civic, intercultural and peace education in Ukraine. The program promotes the development of skills in constructive communication, teamwork, adaptation to a new environment, and allows for the consideration of regional peculiarities of the natural and cultural landscape of Ukraine’s regions. The presented methodological recommendations can be used by teachers to organize the work of students in the classroom, during morning meetings and social hours, at parent-teacher conferences, in clubs and at home.

Programs and guidelines to the integrated course «Culture of Good Neighborhood: I Explore the World» in primary school were developed in 2020-2021 by educators and scientists – members of the NGO «Information and Research Center “Integration and Development”» as part of the project implementation «Promoting the development of active citizenship, tolerance and understanding in educational institutions and communities of Ukraine», which was supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Norway in Ukrain.

The materials of the collections are pilot and are still being tested, reviewed, and typed.
