Model curriculum for the subject “Culture of Good Neighborhood” for grades 5-6 of general secondary education institutions with instruction in the Ukrainian language; general secondary education institutions that have classes (groups) with instruction in the language of an indigenous people or national minority along with the state language, and general secondary education institutions that have classes (groups) with instruction in the Ukrainian language and the language of an indigenous people or national minority, aimed at implementing the Law of Ukraine “On Education” and the Law of Ukraine “On General Secondary Education”.
The program is based on such values as child-centeredness, recognition of the uniqueness, talent and identity of each person, non-discrimination, integrity, health, well-being and safety, which should ensure harmonious development, holistic worldview, affirmation of human dignity, free personality and active citizenship. The program logically continues the implementation of the tasks of social and health education specified in the State Standard of Primary Education (approved by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of February 21, 2018, No. 87), which are implemented through the integrated course “I Explore the World”, as well as programs of the cross-cutting integrated special course “Culture of Good Neighborhood”. No. 87), which are implemented through the integrated course “I Explore the World”, as well as the programs of the cross-cutting integrated special course “Culture of Good Neighborhood” (approved for use by the letter of the State Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine No. 22.1/12-G-366 of June 15, 2018) and the programs of the integrated course “Culture of Good Neighborhood” for grades 1-4 of the NUS (approved for use by the letter of the State Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine No. 22.1/12-G-334 of June 07, 2019).
Program Objective: To promote the harmonious development of the student’s personality and the education of educated, socially competent citizens who share democratic values, are responsible for their community, native land, country, care about their own health, safety and well-being, and are ready to develop and increase the natural, economic and cultural potential of Ukraine.
